چکیده

We present an extension of the non-linear two-step estimation algorithm originally developed for the calibration of solid-state strapdown magnetometers. We expand the algorithm to include nonorthogonality within a sensor set for both two and three axis sensors. Non-orthogonality can result from manufacturing issues, installation geometry, and in the case of magnetometers, soft iron bias errors. Simulation studies for both two and three-axis sensors show convergence of the improved algorithm to the true values, even in the presence of realistic measurement noise. Finally the algorithm is experimentally validated on a low-cost solid state three-axis magnetometer set, which shows definite improvement post-calibration. We note that the algorithm is general and can be applied to any two or three-axis sensor set with an error model consisting of scale, offset, and non-orthogonality errors.

Inexpensive and Automatic Calibration for Acceleration Sensors

In this paper, we present two methods for calibration of acceleration sensors that are inexpensive, in-situ, require minimum user interaction and are targeted to a broad set of acceleration sensor applications and devices. We overcome the necessity of orthogonal axes alignment by extending existing calibration methods with a non-orthogonal axes model. Our non-orthogonal method can furthermore b...

Real Time Calibration of Strap-down Three-Axis-Magnetometer for Attitude Estimation

Three-axis-magnetometers (TAMs) are widely utilized as a key component of attitude determination subsystems and as such are considered the corner stone of navigation for low Earth orbiting (LEO) space systems. Precise geomagnetic-based navigation demands accurate calibration of the magnetometers. In this regard, a complete online calibration process of TAM is developed in the current research t...

Hyperspectral Image Classification Based on the Fusion of the Features Generated by Sparse Representation Methods, Linear and Non-linear Transformations

The ability of recording the high resolution spectral signature of earth surface would be the most important feature of hyperspectral sensors. On the other hand, classification of hyperspectral imagery is known as one of the methods to extracting information from these remote sensing data sources. Despite the high potential of hyperspectral images in the information content point of view, there...

Scalar calibration of vector magnetometers

The calibration parameters of a vector magnetometer are estimated only by the use of a scalar reference magnetometer. The method presented in this paper differs from those previously reported in its linearized parametrization. This allows the determination of three offsets or signals in the absence of a magnetic field, three scale factors for normalization of the axes and three non-orthogonalit...
